Seattle SWAT 40th Anniversary

The team's Roots date back to the Special Patrol Unit (SPU), formed in 1975 and later renamed Emergency Response Team (ERT). In 1986, Seattle established a full-time SWAT Team to provide tactical expertise, advanced training and emergency response. The challenge coin features the American flag, Seattle's iconic Space Needle, and specialized team equipment. The reverse displays a bald eagle representing strength and determination while honoring the SPU and ERT teams that came before.
