Davie Police - Traffic Homicide (Florida)

The Traffic Unit is responsible for traffic control and enforcement throughout the Town of Davie. The team is composed of one sergeant, five motor officers, three traffic homicide investigators (THI) and two community service aides (CSA). Officers patrol in marked vehicles and on motorcycles to enforce traffic laws and enhance roadway safety. Recognized as one of the top three agencies in the state for its innovative traffic safety programs, the unit focuses on reducing crashes, injuries and traffic fatalities. Motor and traffic officers are dedicated to curbing impaired and aggressive driving and are specially trained to investigate traffic fatalities and serious injury collisions. The community service aides support theses efforts by handling crash investigations, including hit-and-run follow-ups, and by deploying license plate reader (LPR) trailers, safety message boards, speed trailers and provide traffic control and other essential services.
